What is Caladryl?

It is a topical lotion that soothes skin allergies and irritation. Its application causes a cooling effect thereby easing out the itch and burning.

What is it used for?

Caladryl is effective against skin allergy, irritation, nappy rash, prickly heat, sun burns and insect bites.

Key ingredients

Caladryl contains Diphenhydramine, Hydrochloride and Calamine.

Diphenhydramine is an anti-histamine that controls the excessive histamine activity on the affected part of skin and thereby eases redness, swelling and itch in the affected area.

Calamine checks the formation of pus or accumulation of fluid. It shields the skin to prevent further damage and speeds up healing.

How does Caladryl work?

Caladryl forms a protective layer over the skin and helps heal symptoms due to skin allergies and skin irritations in 3 ways:
Step 1: Caladryl controls sweat thereby preventing the accumulation of moisture and formation of pus.
Step 2: Caladryl helps reduce redness, swelling and itching
Step 3: A physical barrier is formed over the affected area to protect it against irritants and allergens. This accelerates the healing process.

How to use?

Thoroughly wash the affected area with water.
Gently dab Caladryl on the skin using cotton or your fingers.

Ensure that Caladryl dries on the skin while covering the affected area

DO NOT
- Rub or massage Caladryl into the skin
- Apply Caladryl on an open wound

How frequently should it be used?

Caladryl can be applied 3 to 4 times a day, continuously for 2 weeks.
